ABOUT THE PILATES METHOD

 

The Pilates Method was developed by a German boxer and a circus performer — Joseph Pilates.

He started developing his method of exercise during World War I in an attempt to rehabilitate injured soldiers. His method offered a chance to recover from injury and improve physical performance.

He brought his technique to the United States in 1926, and taught it to New York’s elite until his death in 1967.
